Behavioral Support Specialist

Job Summary:
The 1:1 Behavior Aide will provide one-on-one support to a student with a disability in a classroom setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to follow directions, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide constant support and supervision to the student, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Work under the direction of the classroom teacher to implement academic and behavioral goals in adherence with the student's IEP and BIP.
- Collect and record data on student behavior, providing valuable insights for teachers and administrators.
- Assist students with transitions, adaptations, and daily routines, promoting a smooth and efficient learning environment.
- Develop positive relationships with students, peers, and school staff, fostering a supportive and inclusive community.
- Participate in meetings and discussions regarding student progress, providing valuable input and feedback.
- Report student absences and track attendance, ensuring accurate records and compliance with contract requirements.
Requirements:
- Valid Virginia Driver's License
- Reliable personal cell phone
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Collegiate level education in behavioral science, special education, or human services
