Role Overview:

The Kitchen Operations Leader is accountable for overseeing all aspects of the back-of-house operations. This includes working closely with the corporate chef on menu innovation, ensuring high-quality culinary output, managing food costs, labor expenses, and maintaining the overall condition of the kitchen. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily line checks and safety inspections
  • Manage food budget and control costs associated with food and labor
  • Collaborate with the back-of-house team to address any sub-standard food issues
  • Review supplier pricing monthly
  • Monitor food waste and implement strategies to reduce it
  • Assist the Corporate Chef in menu development and engineering
  • Ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and is adequately stocked
  • Foster a culture of trust and respect among team members
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of team members, including hiring, training, coaching, and terminations
  • Maintain the highest standards of food and beverage quality, guest service, and consistency
  • Manage staffing levels and controllable costs in alignment with budget
  • Complete nightly logs and managerial reports
  • Enforce inventory control measures
  • Ensure up-to-date information regarding menu items and food allergen details
  • Build relationships with regular guests to encourage repeat business
  • Address guest concerns and resolve complaints effectively
  • Adhere to all safety and health regulations, as well as state and federal liquor laws
  • Uphold company safety and sanitation standards
  • Ensure proper checkout procedures are followed
  • Assist with additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts preferred
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Possession of all state-required work cards
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Open Table, and Outlook
  • Understanding of profitability analysis, budgeting, and cost control
  • Knowledge of local labor and health code regulations
  • Experience with POS systems and reporting tools
  • Strong guest relations skills
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety protocols
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment, which may include exposure to varying noise levels, crowds, and temperature changes. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Team members must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform various physical tasks associated with kitchen operations.
