Expert Field Engineer in AISR Technology

Position Overview:
The Field Service Engineer for AISR Solutions will act as a key contributor, enabling the division to meet its internal research and development goals, as well as fulfilling direct customer projects in alignment with the objectives set by the Division Manager and Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
This role encompasses Field Service Engineering duties both on-site and remotely, focusing on establishing and enhancing support services for multiple concurrent projects.

As a technical liaison, the engineer will bridge the gap between engineering teams and operational personnel within the assigned portfolio, while reporting directly to the Field Service Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and refining standardization, program-specific requirements, and risk management strategies to enhance the likelihood of successful delivery of new technological solutions.
  • Supporting the team in expanding the range of available products or services in collaboration with various industry partners in a high-stakes environment.
  • Travel requirements may reach up to 75%.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role on-site, specifically as a Group 3-5 RPA or General Aviation Special Mission Aircraft Field Engineer. Experience should include:

  • Demonstrated involvement in research, development, and initial tech deliverables, particularly with hardware/software subsystem integration and tuning.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ISR systems operational sustainment, including avionics, GCS, communication systems, and mission payloads.
  • Proven ability to independently plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level clearance and possess a valid US passport.

Preferred Qualifications:
Desirable candidates will have over 10 years of experience in Field Engineering Support for RPA/UAS within a global enterprise. Additional qualifications include:

  • Technical expertise to ensure effective execution of Field Engineering Services, fostering development and sustainability of technological solutions.
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in developing innovative AISR platforms or capabilities with proven success under government programs.
  • Expertise in planning and executing 'first flight' field tests, including EMI/EMC mitigation strategies.
  • Experience working within Initial Cadre Teams for Rapid Development and Technology Transfer.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work effectively under time-sensitive conditions.
