Role Overview
The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting construction and field execution responsibilities across various projects. This position will engage in multiple aspects of the construction process, ensuring adherence to company standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
The Project Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Actively participating in the company’s safety and quality initiatives, fostering an injury-free workplace.
  • Assisting in project quality assurance and quality control planning.
  • Engaging in estimating and change management processes, including quantity take-offs and subcontractor proposal reviews.
  • Collaborating with the project team on-site to monitor crew sizes, hours worked, materials used, and equipment availability.
  • Participating in punch list activities, city inspections, safety reviews, and quality assessments.
  • Updating and maintaining project drawings and specifications.
  • Organizing and contributing to project meetings, ensuring proper documentation is prepared and distributed.
  • Compiling various reports such as daily logs, weekly progress updates, and equipment tracking to support project management.
  • Conducting periodic site observations in collaboration with project leadership.
  • Creating procurement logs in line with project schedules and specifications, tracking shop drawings and deliveries.
  • Providing regular updates to the project team to facilitate scheduling processes.
  • Assisting in project closeout activities, including punch lists and maintenance manuals.
  • Applying best practices in construction techniques and standards.
  • Building effective relationships with tradespeople and project team members.
  • Understanding the various roles within the company and their contributions to project success.
  • Promoting teamwork and collaboration within the project environment.
  • Incorporating Lean practices into daily activities.
  • Identifying and integrating self-perform opportunities into project workflows.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently within deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with organizational structures and available resources.
  • Knowledge of Lean processes and construction technologies.
  • Ability to apply construction management fundamentals effectively.
  • Capability to assess and enhance project productivity.
  • Ability to foster collaboration within teams.

Physical Requirements
This role may require lifting up to 50 pounds and may involve travel or relocation. Candidates should be prepared to work non-traditional hours and may be exposed to varying environmental conditions.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for the Project Engineer role is competitive and commensurate with experience. Additionally, the position may offer performance-based bonuses.
