Job Summary

HITT Contracting is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a critical role in the success of our commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Assist in the coordination and management of commercial construction projects, ensuring timely completion, within budget, and to the specified quality.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain adherence to HITT's standards of safety and ensure that required documentation is filed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Project Budgeting: Assist in creating and managing project budgets for all assigned projects, ensuring that expenses are tracked and reported accurately.
  • Pre-Construction: Develop pre-construction RFP packages and assist in conducting project meetings, setting milestones, and formulating monthly owner reports.
  • Job Processes: Establish job processes, including RFIs, submittals, and pay applications, and approve pay applications and negotiate subcontract change orders.
  • Project Schedule and Quality Control: Update project schedules, ensure project quality control, and establish overall project logistics.
  • Closeout Process: Assist in managing the closeout process, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and submitted to the client.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the life of the project.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma required; four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 2-5 years' experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Skills: Passion for construction and our industry; ability to recognize and seek quality; ability to master sector/project-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, and JD Edwards.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment; positive attitude and passion for construction and our industry.
