Position Overview:

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a crucial role in the successful execution of construction projects, ensuring that all necessary information and approvals are gathered, evaluated, and distributed efficiently. The APM is dedicated to safeguarding the interests of both the organization and the client while embodying the qualities of an emerging leader in the field. Most APMs typically progress through this role for a duration of two to six years, gaining valuable experience along the way.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold HITT's safety standards and protocols.
  • Ensure all required documentation is accurately filed and maintained.
  • Assist in the formulation and oversight of project budgets for assigned initiatives.
  • Develop comprehensive pre-construction RFP packages.
  • Participate in project meetings, establish milestones, and prepare monthly reports for stakeholders.
  • Establish and manage job processes, including RFIs, submittals, and payment applications, while overseeing payment approvals and negotiating subcontract changes.
  • Update and monitor project schedules, ensuring quality control and effective project logistics.
  • Support the project closeout process.
  • Collaborate closely with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma is required; a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business is highly preferred.
  • Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably with a general contractor.
  • Prior experience on commercial job sites is strongly preferred.
  • A genuine passion for the construction industry and a commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency in sector-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, and JD Edwards.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on professionalism and clarity.
  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm for the construction field.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret it meaningfully, and communicate insights effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Integrity and alignment with HITT's core values and principles.

  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to evolving technologies and methodologies.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is between $84,000 and $121,000. Compensation may vary based on location and individual qualifications.
