Position Overview:

The Senior Sales Executive for Bioenergy Solutions is a key role within our Sustainable Infrastructure division at Johnson Controls International. We are looking for an experienced sales leader with a strong history of success in selling performance contracts, biogas agreements, and innovative project delivery methods in the bioenergy and wastewater sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, you will be responsible for:
  • Driving the sales of large, intricate bundled offerings that guarantee savings to high-potential customers at the executive level.
  • Promoting the Johnson Controls value proposition by addressing the business and financial challenges faced by clients.
  • Building and nurturing long-term relationships with key stakeholders and facility owners to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Executing the sales process to cultivate and manage enduring partnerships while identifying, qualifying, and closing new sales opportunities.
  • Positioning renewable service agreements and guaranteed savings as the cornerstone of managed account relationships.
  • Utilizing sales tools to plan, document progress, and enhance business opportunities within accounts.
  • Developing opportunities for RNG design-build, DBOM, and biogas sale agreements while negotiating structured offtake agreements with qualified producers.

How You Will Achieve Success:

You will effectively sell Johnson Controls offerings with minimal supervision, focusing on:
  • Persuasively engaging building owners and representatives at the executive level to maximize profit margins.
  • Focusing on biogas Design-Build-Operate-Maintain (DBOM) solutions while ensuring a significant share of the customer’s business.
  • Demonstrating value at the executive level by providing tailored solutions to business and financial challenges.
  • Renewing and expanding renewable service agreements with both new and existing clients.
  • Developing strong partnerships with decision-makers to drive solution sales.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, or a related field; an MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of five to seven years of progressive sales experience at the executive level.
  • Experience in RNG and industry contacts is preferred.
  • Strong skills in financial modeling and understanding of biogas revenue share deals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence key market players.
  • A willingness to travel as required.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint, along with other management systems for building financial models.
  • A comprehensive understanding of RNG, natural gas, and electricity markets.

Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management abilities.
  • Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands:

This role may require prolonged sitting, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, and manual dexterity to operate a computer and calculator.
