Pharmacy Operations Supervisor

Position Overview:
The Pharmacy Manager is accountable for overseeing the pharmacy operations at the store level. This includes managing prescriptions, ensuring inventory accuracy, delivering exceptional customer service, adhering to regulatory standards, and supervising pharmacy personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all pharmacy operations, focusing on prescriptions, inventory management, and customer interactions to achieve optimal results.
- Ensure the pharmacy's compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.
- Efficiently process new and refill requests from customers and clinics, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
- Maintain comprehensive pharmacy records, including customer profiles, insurance documentation, and inventory control logs.
- Implement and manage pharmacy programs, including security protocols and clinical services as required.
- Prepare for and respond to third-party pharmacy audits as necessary.
- Meet or exceed established pharmacy performance metrics, including profitability and sales targets.
- Provide effective leadership to pharmacy staff, fostering a positive and customer-centric store culture.
- Manage staffing, training, performance evaluations, and career development for pharmacy associates.
- Stay informed about legal regulations, industry trends, and best practices in pharmacy management, making recommendations for improvements.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a related field is required; a Doctorate in Pharmacy is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a pharmacist is required.
- Current pharmacy license in good standing in the state of employment.
- Immunization certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and pharmacy laws.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead a diverse team and collaborate effectively with associates at all levels.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining pharmacy licensure.
- Familiarity with inventory management practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Bilingual skills are advantageous based on regional demographics.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The position involves standing and walking for extended periods, as well as bending and twisting. The work environment is typical of a retail setting, with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
