Pharmacy Operations Supervisor

This position entails overseeing the pharmacy department's operations at the store level, ensuring the efficient management of prescriptions, inventory, customer service, and adherence to regulatory standards while upholding company policies and leading pharmacy personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct all facets of pharmacy operations, focusing on prescriptions, inventory management, and customer service to optimize outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Federal and State regulations and company policies.
- Process new and refill requests from customers and clinics, filling prescriptions accurately and professionally.
- Maintain comprehensive pharmacy records, including customer profiles, insurance documentation, and inventory control records.
- Manage and implement pharmacy programs, including security measures and clinical services as assigned.
- Prepare for and respond to third-party pharmacy audits as necessary.
- Achieve or surpass established pharmacy operation metrics, including profitability and sales targets.
- Provide effective leadership to pharmacy associates, fostering a positive and customer-centric store culture.
- Implement company service programs and exemplify high service standards to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Oversee department management, including staffing, training, performance evaluation, and career development of associates.
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets as required.
- Stay informed on legal regulations, industry trends, and best practices to recommend improvements and ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or a related field is required; a Doctorate in Pharmacy is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a pharmacist is required.
- Pharmacy License in good standing is mandatory for the state of operation.
- Immunization Certification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, along with pharmacy laws and guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead a diverse team and collaborate effectively with associates at all levels.
- Commitment to ongoing education and maintaining a Pharmacy License in good standing.
- Familiarity with perpetual inventory management practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; bilingual skills are advantageous based on demographic needs.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role require the ability to lift and move items up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and may need to bend, stoop, twist, and turn regularly. The work environment is typical of a retail store, with varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions. The noise level is generally low to moderate. Travel requirements may vary based on assignments.
