Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing and supported by a strong Leadership Team, the Plant Manager will oversee the resources allocated to Production Supervisors and all personnel to meet the facility's daily, weekly, and monthly targets. The responsibilities of the Plant Manager encompass several key areas:

  1. Team Leadership - Directs and nurtures Production Supervisors and plant personnel, emphasizing team development, retention, and a collaborative culture. Works closely with HR to implement leadership initiatives and enhance workforce engagement.
  2. Operational Performance - Concentrates on maximizing productivity, optimizing material yield, and improving labor efficiency. Manages product lines and inventory while staying informed about foam types and customer specifications, collaborating with finance and manufacturing directors to assess performance metrics and drive profitability.
  3. Quality Assurance - Ensures the delivery of high-quality products through established Quality Control Procedures (QCPs), including inspections of incoming and finished goods, managing non-conformance issues, and implementing corrective measures to minimize returns.
  4. Client Relations - Cultivates relationships with customers as appropriate, working with the sales team to deliver outstanding service and ensuring timely and complete shipments.
  5. Facility and Equipment Management - Guarantees the continuous operation of equipment and fleet, maintains high standards of cleanliness and security, provides guidance to the maintenance team, supports preventive maintenance initiatives, and ensures proper organization of materials.
  6. Safety Management - Partners with the Leadership Team to enforce the Foamcraft Safety Program at the plant level, leads safety committee meetings, upholds safety protocols on the production floor, and trains staff on safety regulations.
  7. Design and Development Oversight - Responsible for implementing design and development processes within the plant, overseeing CAD, prototyping, production, and quality management, while guiding the local design and development team.

Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor's degree and have a background in manufacturing management. Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office, and familiarity with manufacturing software systems are essential. Candidates should be knowledgeable in manufacturing best practices, including Lean methodologies, 5S, Continuous Improvement, Quality Systems, and Root Cause Analysis. Experience with CNC machinery, CAD, cost accounting, and financial analysis in a manufacturing context is advantageous. Strong skills in building and maintaining customer relationships are crucial.
