Position Overview
This role encompasses a leadership position tasked with steering the overall direction, process management, and organizational leadership for the Project Management Portfolio Planning function.

The incumbent will be responsible for establishing the strategic vision of the Portfolio Planning function and nurturing robust collaboration between Planners and Portfolio Program Managers.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead Project Planners to maintain current asset-level timelines and reporting.
- Ensure that Asset Team timelines accurately reflect asset strategy and status.
- Provide mentorship and training to project planners on scenario analysis and related analytics for asset plans.
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of asset dashboard reports utilized for executive decision-making.
- Drive complex cross-functional initiatives across R&D to enhance project management and planning processes across the organization.

Process Improvement
- Champion the development and implementation of processes and tools that support Project Management Functions throughout the R&D organization, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial objectives.

- Collaborate with relevant functions (e.g., Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory) to synchronize asset and functional schedules and resource allocation in the portfolio planning tool.

Best Practices and Oversight
- Apply project management best practices to create, maintain, and enhance project planning tools and templates for effective monitoring and continuous improvement.

- Engage directly with clients and management to discuss strategic planning for tools and enhancements.
- Act as a facilitator to eliminate organizational barriers that hinder cross-functional initiative success.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical, scientific, or project management-related field is required, with 13+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably in project management or the pharmaceutical industry; or a Master's degree with 11+ years of experience; or a Doctorate with 9+ years of experience in similar fields.

- Accreditation in project management or process improvement (e.g., Project Management Professional, LEAN Six Sigma) is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of project management experience, including leadership of cross-functional teams, is required.

Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles and the drug development process is essential.
- Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, as well as technology skills (e.g., MS Office, MS Project) is required.
