Position Overview

The Head of Information Services embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, adhering to the organization's ethical standards and compliance protocols. This role is pivotal in overseeing the Information Services (IS) operations for designated healthcare entities.

The Head of Information Services will be responsible for comprehensive relationship management concerning all facets of Information Services, including strategic systems planning, project delivery for new systems, ongoing enhancements, and daily operational support. Participation in strategic planning workgroups and technology policy decisions is a key aspect of this leadership position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the recognized leader for Information Services within the assigned business unit.
  • Oversee the management of application systems and facilitate the transition to standardized technology frameworks.
  • Provide strategic direction in prioritizing projects and managing service requests.
  • Collaborate effectively within the IS organization to allocate resources for prioritized initiatives.
  • Ensure ongoing capacity management to drive improvements.
  • Embed and uphold NMHC Information Services processes, policies, and best practices within the organization.
  • Lead specific projects or functional areas as assigned, applying project management expertise.
  • Engage in the planning and activation of new facilities, supporting major projects as necessary.
  • Manage and mentor a team of managers and analysts to fulfill alignment leader responsibilities.
  • Be accountable for the performance of the IS function within the local entity.
  • Act as the primary contact for customer relationship management at the site level.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the industry.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare delivery and operational frameworks.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in coordination, facilitation, consultation, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to navigate complex, cross-organizational systems.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred:

  • Background in healthcare technology.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
