Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Director to join our team at Walmart. As a key member of our Controllership organization, you will play a critical role in driving the success of our retail growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical accounting consultation process for complex transactions, advising and supporting the business on new deal structure, and ensuring consistent application of Walmart accounting policy across the organization.
  • Collaborate with multiple functional areas across the organization, including finance, corporate development, tax, treasury, and operations, to drive strong communications, strategic alignment, and clear project management.
  • Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals, engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives.
  • Oversee processes and controls, P&L and balance sheet accounts for each assigned business area, monitoring projects, reviewing financial data, discussing strategy business impacts, and facilitating the relationship between team, internal customers, and external specialists.
  • Manage the mitigation of company risk exposure by designing and developing financial-related systems, system enhancements, and processes, monitoring and improving controls environment, ensuring coordination between cross-divisional departments and internal and external auditors, and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and generally accepted accounting principles.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 5 years' experience in finance, accounting, or related area OR 7 years' experience in finance, accounting, or related area.
  • 2 years' supervisory experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation, Leading and completing cross-functional projects, Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, Using Essbase.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include stock.
