Position Overview: As an Accountant, you will be integral in overseeing the financial and regulatory responsibilities of a diverse portfolio of captive insurance entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a skilled client account team to produce high-quality financial and regulatory documentation.
  • Oversee and reconcile the General Ledger.
  • Prepare and conduct peer reviews of monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • File premium tax returns accurately and on time.
  • Ensure timely preparation of regulatory submissions.
  • Engage in daily verbal and written communications with clients.
  • Manage client financial audits effectively.
  • Prepare for and participate in client Board of Director meetings.
  • Coordinate with clients, third-party service providers, and state regulators.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is mandatory; CPA certification is advantageous but not essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years of financial accounting experience in either public or private sectors; direct experience in captive management is a plus, and internships may be considered for entry-level candidates.
  • Experience in insurance accounting and auditing is preferred; commercial or public accounting experience will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial accounting/general ledger software is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team or independently on assigned tasks, emphasizing attention to detail and prioritization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 5% as necessary.

  • Second: Video conference or onsite meeting with the Hiring Manager.
  • Final: Video conference or onsite meeting with team members.
