Position Overview:

The Principal in Residence program at KIPP Capital Region is a two-year residency designed to equip aspiring school leaders with the essential skills required to lead a school within the KIPP network. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of two years of instructional leadership experience and will actively engage in the daily operations of a KIPP school, which may involve relocation for enhanced professional development.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive school vision in collaboration with the School Leader
  • Oversee planning and goal-setting for specific grades or departments
  • Implement school-wide initiatives aimed at addressing educational inequities
  • Manage and mentor groups of educators
  • Utilize data-driven instruction and assess performance metrics
  • Deliver high-quality instructional coaching and professional development opportunities
  • Champion school culture initiatives and foster family engagement
  • Assist educators in student intervention strategies and creating inclusive environments
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in managing or coaching K-12 educators
  • Experience in educational settings is preferred
  • Flexibility in working hours is essential
  • Dedication to promoting an inclusive environment
