Position Overview:

The Principal in Residence initiative at KIPP Capital Region is a two-year program designed to equip aspiring school leaders with the essential skills required to manage a school within the KIPP network. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of two years of instructional leadership experience and will actively engage in the daily functions of a KIPP school, which may involve relocation for further professional development.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and execute a comprehensive school vision under the mentorship of the School Leader
  • Oversee planning and goal-setting for specific grades or departments
  • Implement school-wide initiatives aimed at addressing inequities
  • Supervise and cultivate groups of educators
  • Utilize data-driven instruction and assess performance
  • Deliver high-quality instructional coaching and professional growth opportunities
  • Champion school culture initiatives and foster family engagement
  • Assist educators in student intervention and creating inclusive environments
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in managing or coaching K-12 educators
  • Experience in educational settings preferred
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Dedication to promoting an inclusive atmosphere
