Job Summary

As the Chief Information Officer at InsideHigherEd, you will be responsible for establishing and directing the strategic long-term goals, policies, and procedures for Information Technology Services. This role requires a strong leader who can determine the University's long-term systems needs and identify hardware acquisitions necessary to accomplish business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategic Planning: Manage staffing resources for the Department, including providing leadership and guidance to department directors, communicating university needs, identifying development needs, and providing professional development opportunities.
  • Resource Management: Resolve resource deployment issues, provide oversight for each ITS department and its resources, and manage budgets and purchases.
  • Technology Evaluation and Implementation: Research and evaluate new technology, meet with developers, integrators, other colleges and universities, and USG to discuss possible solutions to challenges and improvement opportunities, and participate in product and service demonstrations.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate campus-wide technology projects, identify opportunities, define goals, and develop plans for projects, including improving current services or introducing new products or services.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Experience: 8 years of management experience in information technology leading a team-oriented, collaborative environment, 5 years of experience with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation, and 5 years of customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Master's degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Experience: Experience working in higher education.
