Job Summary

As an Ammonia Refrigeration Systems Technician with the Michigan Milk Producers Association, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on ammonia refrigeration systems and other plant equipment to ensure optimal operational conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily inspections and checks of ammonia refrigeration systems to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing and ammonia refrigeration equipment or systems, utilizing technical procedures, electrical schematics, and service manuals as needed.
  • Collaborate with plant maintenance teams to ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements on production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems.
  • Adhere to standard work procedures and job safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform manual tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods, including lifting, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable.
  • Assist with additional duties and/or projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to work any and/or rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two or more years of refrigeration experience or equivalent education.
  • Two or more years of experience with boilers and steam systems.
  • Ability to pass a respiratory fit test.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous manufacturing and/or industrial experience.
  • Experience adhering to industry-specific safety standards.
