Operating Room Surgical Specialist

Cross Country Workforce Solutions Group is seeking skilled Surgical Technicians to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:- Continuously monitor and evaluate the conditions of the operating room, ensuring the needs of both the patient and surgical team are met.
- Prepare the operating room prior to surgical procedures by gathering and verifying the necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies in accordance with nursing protocols.
- Accurately confirm solutions, medications, and drainage tubes with the circulating nurse, ensuring proper labeling.
- Assist in the collection and labeling of specimens during surgical procedures, adhering to established protocols.
- Function as a scrub technician during various surgical operations, expertly managing sterile instruments and supplies while upholding aseptic techniques.
- Perform cleaning, sorting, sterilization, and decontamination of the operating room and its equipment, utilizing sterilizers and ultrasonic devices, while properly disposing of waste materials.
- Assemble, operate, and monitor support equipment such as suction machines and diagnostic tools to guarantee optimal functionality.
- Under the guidance of a surgeon, assist with tasks such as suctioning, suture cutting, and dressing application/removal in accordance with established policies.
- Conduct thorough counts of sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments before, during, and after surgical procedures to ensure all items are accounted for.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of surgical procedures.
- Facilitate the transportation of patients to and from perioperative services, assisting the surgical team in positioning and preparing patients for surgery.
Experience: Minimum of two years in an operating room setting, providing assistance to surgeons and medical personnel during surgical interventions.
Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, issued by the American Heart Association.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary
Compensation: $52.00 per hour
Expected Work Hours: 40 hours per week
