Position Overview
Under the guidance of the Circulating Nurse in the Operating Room, the Surgical Equipment Specialist is responsible for preparing surgical environments in accordance with departmental protocols and physician preferences.

This role is integral to the surgical team, ensuring patient care is prioritized while maintaining a sterile environment. Responsibilities include the preparation of necessary supplies and equipment, as well as participation in on-call duties, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
• Anticipate the needs of the physician during surgical procedures at the sterile field.
• Prepare and manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment effectively.
• Implement and uphold aseptic techniques to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
• Adhere to protocols regarding the handling of medications and specimens, as well as compliance with departmental policies.

Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program or possess relevant experience in the field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of operating room equipment, including its use and functionality.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members regarding policies and procedures.
• Physical capability to maneuver heavy equipment and surgical tools safely.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
