Cedars-Sinai is a leading healthcare provider seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist III to join our team in the Main Operating Room. As a Surgical Technologist III, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Efficiency: Coordinate in-services with educators and team leaders to improve efficiency and cost in surgical units.
  • Training and Development: Perform the preceptor role for surgical technology students and new hires, assisting in the orientation of department processes.
  • Equipment Management: Help to improve efficiency and cost in surgical units, participating in decision-making activities related to evaluating and acquiring surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Departmental Involvement: Demonstrate active involvement in department committees and unit in-services, promoting patient care and safety.
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare operating rooms for surgery, assists with turning over the operating room, and arranges instruments according to a given procedure.
  • Intraoperative Support: Assist surgeons during surgery, passing instruments and other sterile supplies, and performs appropriate intraoperative count.
  • Patient Care: Prepare patients for surgery, transports patients to and from surgery, and demonstrates clinical competency and technical skills for general and special populations.
  • Supply Management: Assist in storing and stocking supplies, maintains and updates surgeons' preference lists, and improves the accuracy of patient identification.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification: Vocational or technical diploma required.
  • Experience: Three years of experience in surgical procedures required.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred.
