This position is responsible for assisting the primary surgeon in the operating room, providing organized instruction and supervised practice. The ideal candidate will act in the absence of a qualified physician and possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist the primary surgeon in the operating room, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment.
- Provide organized instruction and supervised practice to surgical team members.
- Act in the absence of a qualified physician, making decisions and taking charge of the surgical team as needed.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and execution of surgical procedures.
**Requirements**
- Successful completion of a course in RN First Assisting.
- California Registered Nurse License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
- California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization within 30 days of hire.
- 3 years of experience in peri-operative nursing practice as both scrub and circulator.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
