The Role

In this role, you will utilize advanced process control, artificial intelligence, and IoT 5.0 technologies to foster digital evolution and operational excellence in the manufacturing sector.

Your Responsibilities

Key Duties Include:

Leveraging your extensive knowledge of process control and automation systems to analyze specific operations within the Pulp & Paper sector.

This expertise will enable you to pinpoint opportunities for implementing advanced control strategies that enhance efficiency and product quality.

As a trusted consultant, you will work closely with our Pulp & Paper clients to evaluate their current processes, identify challenges, and comprehend their production goals.

Based on your assessments, you will offer recommendations and technical guidance to implement advanced control solutions.

Collaborating with our team of process and automation specialists, you will design and develop advanced control solutions tailored to meet each client's unique requirements.

This may involve creating control algorithms and integrating sensors and instrumentation.

You will oversee the deployment of advanced control systems in the client's facility, which may include configuring and fine-tuning control loops, conducting system tests, and ensuring smooth integration with existing automation frameworks.

Utilizing ANDRITZ's proprietary Metris software, you will continuously monitor and evaluate mill performance.

This includes analyzing real-time data, diagnosing issues or deviations, and refining control algorithms as needed to optimize process performance.

Your expertise will be crucial in enhancing product quality.

By implementing advanced control strategies, you will help minimize variations, reduce defects, and ensure consistent product quality, which is vital in the Pulp & Paper industry.

You may also be involved in training client personnel to effectively operate and maintain the advanced control systems. Knowledge transfer is essential for the long-term success of these solutions.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who possess:
  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, preferably in Industrial Technology / Automation or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in process control and automation.
  • Proven knowledge of Pulp & Paper industrial processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis and process control; programming experience with DCS and PLC is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Basic knowledge of instrumentation.
  • Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is an asset.
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel as required.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
