Job Summary

McLaughlin Research Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer III to support a Department of Defense contract at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing significant alterations to existing Navy submarine systems, integrating existing equipment or software into different applications or platforms, and evaluating foreign or non-developmental weapons systems, equipment, and technologies to satisfy existing war fighting requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with NUWC Engineers to establish standards, practices, and procedures for integrating, testing, and evaluating missile weapons systems onboard Navy Submarines.
  • Evaluate system capabilities, architectures, design concepts, requirements, risks, and opportunities, and processes for integration, test, evaluation, and transition impacts.
  • Design, develop, and implement test and evaluation strategies, plans, and methods to assure reliability of systems in conjunction with system specifications and defined capabilities.
  • Develop and interpret requirements, drawings, data sets, reports, and specifications.
  • Interface with other members of project teams to define and implement engineering solutions to meet systems mission objectives.
  • Help resolve programmatic and technical problems that would affect cost, schedule, and performance. Develop, document, and maintain processes, methods, and tools.
  • Participate in reviews of systems under development to ensure requirements compliance through verification and validation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Related Field
  • 5-7 years of systems engineering experience, including knowledge in system development and analysis, systems, and tools.
  • Goal-oriented and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to develop solutions to complex technical problems.
  • US Secret Security Clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Submarine system or sub-system engineering and test experience.
