About the Role

The Electric Drive Transportation Association is seeking a highly skilled Membership and Events Manager to drive the Association's recruitment and retention efforts. This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC, offering a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an effective membership recruitment strategy, identifying and evaluating prospect leads, and determining the best approach to secure new members.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and potential members, ensuring their needs are met and providing exceptional service.
  • Manage and design engagement strategies for industry conferences and events, enhancing member value and building membership.
  • Lead the organization's visibility through strategic engagement in industry events, promoting the value of EDTA membership.
  • Collaborate with the President and Director of Finance to set and meet membership and event revenue goals.
Requirements and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum four years of membership recruitment/business development or sales experience, preferably in a membership organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record of recruitment/sales success.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, ability to engage with people of diverse backgrounds, and senior levels of non-profits and corporations.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented, with experience managing complex project workflows and timelines.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software, including database management and optimization.
  • Energy, transportation, or advanced technology industry experience a plus.
