This role is designed as a hybrid opportunity, requiring in-office presence on select days. The Membership and Chapter Services Department (MCSD) Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) team, ensuring that programs operate efficiently for our esteemed members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for inquiries and requests from members and subscribers.
- Facilitate the timely distribution of membership and Landscape Architecture Magazine renewal notifications through various channels.
- Investigate inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide comprehensive information regarding ASLA membership, renewals, and subscriptions.
- Compile and format data on new members and significant member milestones for acknowledgment in the member newsletter.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer leaders in the Association Management System (AMS) and ensure annual updates are entered.
- Process membership applications, renewals, subscriptions, and product orders in accordance with ASLA database protocols.
- Support the consistency of data within the AMS.
- Serve as the administrator for MCSD Basecamp groups.
- Assist in organizing chapter leadership visits by supplying the Executive Office with necessary chapter information.
- Manage the registration area during the ASLA annual conference, including the distribution of member recognition ribbons.
- Deliver prompt and high-quality service to members, prospective members, and other stakeholders through various communication methods.
- Safeguard confidential and sensitive information.
- Provide additional assistance to ASLA membership team members with data entry and administrative tasks as required.
- Inform members and prospects about the advantages and value of ASLA membership.
- Embody and promote the values and culture of ASLA.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
- A minimum of 3 years of administrative experience, ideally within a nonprofit or association environment.
- Preferred educational background includes an Associate's or BA/BS degree.
- Proficient in Excel for managing data and information in spreadsheets.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Exceptional customer service, data entry, and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with databases, data entry, and reporting tasks.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workflows that involve interruptions and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
- Strong technological proficiency, including Microsoft Office, MailChimp, and Survey Monkey.
- Experience with Impexium is a plus.
