ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical or mechanical design with increasing responsibilities.
- Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing projects.
- Proficiency in mechanical CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, Pro/E, CoCreate, or Creo.
- Experience in the consumer electronics or medical device sectors.
- Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes (20+ parts designed) and familiarity with high-volume manufacturing methods (Stamping, machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.).
- Solid understanding of basic mechanics and machine design principles.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% between locations.
- Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is required.
- Background checks will be conducted.
- In-depth knowledge of material properties, including plastics, metals, adhesives, glass, PCBA, and flex circuits.
- Familiarity with GD&T techniques and associated measurement methods.
- Experience integrating optics into product designs.
- Expertise in collaborating with overseas suppliers, including communication, design for manufacturability, scheduling, tooling issues, and occasional night calls.
- Experience in testing and analysis methods (FEA, Simulation, Zemax, Ray Tracing, etc.).
- Background in high-volume product development.
- 6-sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) is a plus.
- Track record of successfully bringing multiple consumer products from concept to production.
- Experience in design for manufacturability and assembly.
- Ability to effectively present engineering designs, proposals, and reports.
