ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) is required; a Master's degree (MSME) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical or mechanical design, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing projects.
  • Proficiency in mechanical CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, Pro/E, CoCreate, or Creo.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics or medical device sectors.
  • Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes (with at least 20 parts designed) and familiarity with high-volume manufacturing methods (including stamping, machining, 3D printing, and injection molding).
  • Strong understanding of basic mechanics and machine design principles.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% between various locations.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is required.
  • Background checks will be conducted.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of material properties, including plastics, metals, adhesives, glass, PCBA, and flex circuits.
  • Familiarity with GD&T techniques and related metrology practices.
  • Experience integrating optical components into products.
  • Expertise in collaborating with international vendors, including communication, design for manufacturability (DFM), scheduling, tooling issues, and occasional night calls.
  • Experience in testing and analysis methodologies (such as FEA, Simulation, Zemax, Ray Tracing, etc.).
  • Background in high-volume product development.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) is advantageous.
  • Track record of successfully bringing multiple consumer products from concept to production.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Ability to effectively present engineering designs, proposals, and reports.
