ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical or mechanical design with progressive responsibility.
  • Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing projects.
  • Proficiency in mechanical CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, Pro/E, CoCreate, or Creo.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics or medical device sectors.
  • Expertise in plastic injection molding (20+ parts designed) and familiarity with high-volume manufacturing methods (Stamping, machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of fundamental mechanics and machine design principles.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% between locations.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Background checks are mandatory.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • In-depth knowledge of material properties, including plastics, metals, adhesives, glass, PCBA, and flex circuits.
  • Familiarity with GD&T techniques and related metrology practices.
  • Experience integrating optics into product designs.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with overseas vendors, including communication, DFMs, scheduling, tooling issues, and occasional night calls.
  • Experience in testing and analysis (FEA, Simulation, Zemax, Ray Tracing, etc.).
  • Background in high-volume product development.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) is a plus.
  • Track record of successfully bringing multiple consumer products from concept to production.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Strong presentation skills for engineering designs, proposals, and reports.

The salary range for this position is based on national standards. Actual compensation may vary depending on skills, experience, and location. Base Salary: $85,000 to $160,000.
