You will be integral to a team that transitions concepts from initial prototyping to mass-production consumer electronics.

This position requires collaboration and a spirit of inquiry across various engineering disciplines beyond just mechanical engineering.

The ideal candidate will possess robust mechanical engineering principles, prototyping expertise, proficiency in CAD software, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and experience in designing consumer electronics.


Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical Systems Engineer Duties:
Lead the initial mechanical and product architecture development or provide technical guidance to a broader development team.

Design, construct, evaluate, and enhance prototypes and testing systems.

Engage in a collaborative team environment, working across engineering fields to develop systems and manage trade-offs involving electronics, mechanics, optics, sensors, haptics, firmware, and software.

Advance state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies to address intricate mechanical challenges.

Utilize external resources (Contract Manufacturers/Joint Development Manufacturers/Vendors) to optimize our internal focus on delivering value and differentiation in our products.

Conduct feasibility assessments and analyses to explore new technologies and components. Propose innovative strategies to improve product performance and features.

Essential Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.

5+ years of experience in mechanical design, particularly in delivering consumer electronics.

Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning, geometric tolerancing, and 3D/2D CAD tools.

Understanding of material properties, including plastics, metals, adhesives, glass, etc.

Experience in testing and analysis methodologies (Finite Element Analysis, Simulation, Design of Experiments, etc.).

Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes (stamping, machining, injection molding, etc.).

Desirable Qualifications:

Master's or Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering.

7+ years of experience in product design and development of handheld and/or wearable electronics for high-volume production, including complete systems ownership.

Experience in designing handheld and wearable electronics for mass production.

Familiarity with NX software.

Experience with cosmetic surface treatments and collaboration with industrial design teams.

Expertise in designing for human factors.

Compensation:
$204,000/year to $281,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
