Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated Campus Safety Coordinator II.

Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of our security team, you will conduct uniformed patrols and implement crime prevention strategies to safeguard individuals and property. Your role will involve fostering positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the local community.

Core Duties:
- Collaborate with university administrators on initial and follow-up investigations of incidents.
- Document criminal activities and disturbances; uphold university policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.

Work Schedule:
This role requires flexibility with shift work, including rotating days off and potential schedule adjustments to meet the university's security needs. Daily supervision will be provided by the on-duty Campus Safety and Security Shift Commander.

Specific Tasks:
- Patrol designated areas using various modes of transportation, including foot, bicycle, and patrol vehicles.
- Engage in community policing and crime prevention initiatives.
- Respond to both routine and emergency service calls, taking appropriate action.
- Conduct preliminary investigations while ensuring confidentiality and clarity in reporting.
- Perform security inspections of university facilities and report any necessary conditions.
- Manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic and enforce parking regulations as required.
- Provide escorts and other essential services, including securing buildings.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support operational and special event needs.
- Utilize various computer systems and equipment as part of your daily tasks.
- Carry out other security-related duties for the university community as needed.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Candidates must pass a university criminal background check and maintain a clean driving record.

Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in security or law enforcement is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:
- Candidates must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including standing for extended periods and responding to various physical demands.
