Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Housing Facilities Coordinator who will contribute to maintaining a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing living and learning environment within university housing.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves the delivery and installation of furniture, as well as coordinating bed lofting services as required. The coordinator will also assist in organizing and auditing storage inventories.
The Housing Facilities Coordinator is tasked with inspecting and addressing issues related to residence halls and common areas in university apartments, focusing on furnishings and kitchen amenities.
Operational Support
This position plays a crucial role in the daily operations of housing facilities, ensuring quality control and overseeing health and safety inspections. Responsibilities include facilitating contractor access, managing deliveries, and supporting logistical activities necessary for on-campus living.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the Associate Director for Housing Facilities and is primarily responsible for coordinating follow-up inspections related to maintenance and repair work orders, as well as escorting contractors and university staff to ensure secure access to facility spaces.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and document any facility items that may pose safety or security risks.
- Report on housekeeping or maintenance areas that require attention.
- Perform building inspections as part of a quality assurance initiative, checking for vandalism, damages, and the status of open work orders.
- Manage and organize storage areas, tracking furniture placement and maintaining an accurate inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Follow up on completed work orders for both emergency and non-emergency repairs.
- Assist with the logistics of moves and relocations for on-campus living staff and students.
- Receive and manage deliveries for housing facilities in support of operational needs.
- Complete administrative tasks as directed by the Housing Facilities Team, ensuring precise record-keeping.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience is necessary. Additional education may substitute for required experience as permitted by the university's equivalency formula.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient understanding of facility operations and maintenance.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to collaborate effectively within project teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in crisis management.
- Effective resource management and self-awareness of personal strengths and weaknesses.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
