Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct uniformed patrols and crime prevention services to protect life and property
  • Offer proactive support of student and staff initiatives
  • Develop and maintain a positive rapport with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and members of the surrounding neighborhoods
  • Coordinate and cooperate with various University administrators in the preliminary investigation of complaints
  • Report criminal offenses and disruptions
  • Enforce University policies and regulations
  • Write reports and keep records
  • Monitor electronic surveillance equipment and key access control
  • Assist with monitoring alarm systems and closed-circuit equipment
  • Respond to emergency medical situations and apply first aid until emergency medics arrive on site
  • Work closely with the Resident Advisors and student housing personnel
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Completion of basic security officer training, field training, and related training required
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Must be able to successfully complete a physical/health screening examination
  • Must also be able to successfully meet and maintain Campus Safety and Security physical requirements
Working Conditions

This is a non-sworn, unarmed position within the current security organization. This position is not benefits eligible.
