Role Responsibilities:

As a Police Officer, you will:

  • Engage with the university community to deliver effective law enforcement services.
  • Conduct patrols and crime prevention initiatives to safeguard lives and property.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Enforce university policies and state regulations while working in partnership with other university departments.
  • Respond to emergency calls and assist in de-escalating situations as necessary.
  • Conduct investigations and collaborate with local law enforcement agencies when required.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of two years of service with a full-service law enforcement agency.
  • Current certification from the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions or meet Comparative Compliance Standards.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse environment.

Work Environment:

This position involves shift work and may require working weekends and holidays. The role demands physical fitness and the ability to handle various situations under pressure.

Compensation:

The starting salary for this position is competitive, with additional incentives available for qualified candidates.
