Position Overview

Role Summary:
As a Human Resources Specialist at New Start Staffing, you will be instrumental in managing a variety of HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee onboarding, compensation management, benefits administration, training initiatives, diversity efforts, attendance monitoring, payroll processing, and ensuring the accuracy of HRIS data. Your contributions will enhance operational efficiencies, support strategic objectives, and guarantee adherence to applicable employment regulations.

Core Responsibilities:
- **New Employee Orientation and Integration (25%)**
- Facilitate new employee orientation sessions and ensure a seamless integration experience.
- Partner with the recruitment team to finalize hiring decisions and recommend appropriate salary levels for new roles.
- **Attendance and Leave Management (25%)**
- Oversee attendance and leave records, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and legal requirements.
- **HRIS and Data Oversight (20%)**
- Regularly update and maintain HRIS data, ensuring its accuracy and reliability.
- Create and evaluate HR reports to inform strategic decision-making.
- **Payroll Management and Reporting (20%)**
- Supervise payroll operations, including bi-weekly payroll reconciliation and resolution of payroll discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with payroll-related regulations and internal policies.
- **Additional HR Functions (10%)**
- Assist with various HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Provide expert guidance and support to both employees and management.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in HR, with a preference for at least 2-3 years in a unionized setting.
- Proficiency in HR software and systems (e.g., Kronos, WorkDay, SAP).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively and cultivate relationships across all organizational levels.

Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS/database management.
- Knowledgeable about federal and state employment laws and compliance standards.
- Experience in payroll management, benefits administration, and employee relations.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to derive insights from HR data.
- High integrity and the ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
