In the capacity of Senior HR Operations Manager for our Clean Air division, you will be instrumental in defining and executing the company's human resources strategies while ensuring the effective application of HR policies and initiatives. This role demands a seasoned HR expert with extensive knowledge of human resources methodologies, employment regulations, and a successful history of managing and supporting manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously enhance the quality of service provided to both internal and external stakeholders, with a primary focus on:
    • Ensuring the department effectively addresses employee concerns and issues.
    • Formulating recruitment strategies for both hourly and salaried positions across North America.
    • Collaborating in the assessment of needs, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training initiatives aligned with business objectives.
    • Acting as a strategic business partner between Operations and the HR function.
    • Assisting in the management of succession planning processes within the manufacturing sector.
    • Overseeing performance management practices within the division.
    • Enhancing the effectiveness of communication programs within the division.
    • Promoting the use of employee recognition initiatives.
    • Administering all HR policies relevant to the division.
    • Ensuring compliance with corporate EEO/AAP policies.
    • Serving as a liaison between the division and external consulting, training, and recruitment partners.
    • Conducting hiring, training, coaching, and related activities to support manufacturing functions.
    • Championing company culture and management practices throughout the division.
    • Working towards the continuous improvement of HR automation practices across the region.
    • Generating division and corporate reports as necessary, identifying appropriate metrics and processes for tracking.
    • Modifying and enhancing the new-hire orientation program across various locations.
    • Assisting in the administration of employee feedback mechanisms, including engagement surveys and listening sessions, ensuring robustness and effectiveness.
    • Acting as the primary contact for contracted services.
    • Performing all other incidental and related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborating closely with the HR Director, business units, and other manufacturing management teams within the group, division, or corporate environment.
  • Managing HR Managers in the region and overseeing daily operational activities.
  • Strategic Partner – actively engaging in business challenges, participating in task forces, and managing workforce planning, skills assessment, succession planning, and learning and development initiatives while promoting company culture.
  • Administrative Expert – driving continuous improvement and automation of HR processes such as benefits administration, employee record management, recruitment, occupational health and safety, and compensation activities.
  • Employee Champion – fostering communication programs that ensure open, candid, and frequent information sharing between employees and management, developing employee involvement systems, and creating an environment conducive to celebration and openness.
  • Change Agent – facilitating change initiatives, helping associates understand the necessity of change, and supporting the modification of systems and structures to accommodate necessary adjustments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR-related laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, Age Discrimination Act, and state statutes.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Human Resource Management.
  • Experience within a multi-site manufacturing organization.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport at various organizational levels.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Capability to conceptualize processes and understand the broader context.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% for meetings, training, or site visits, with flexibility to adjust work schedules for project completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, HR, or a related field.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification.
  • Experience in maintaining a nonunion environment is advantageous.
  • Background in organizational behavior.
