About This RoleThe General Manager's role is to guide and inspire the team to deliver an exceptional retail experience that promotes the Common Citizen movement. This involves leading by example in serving your fellow advisors and collaborating with company experts in Human Resources, Finance, and Regulatory Compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Create a quality work environment for the retail team, focusing on their growth and development.
- Manage and inspire staff to deliver the highest level of customer service, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for all customers.
- Provide consistent constructive feedback that empowers and motivates our team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Supervise and direct the activities of the store and team, including employee scheduling, inventory management, and retail floor activities.
- Assist with reception, inventory management, and retail floor activities, ensuring seamless operations.
- Address issues that arise from employees or customers, providing prompt and effective solutions.
- Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and identify areas for growth.
- Propose innovative ideas to increase brand awareness and promote the Common Citizen movement.
- Create and reinforce a proactive selling culture, encouraging staff to engage with customers and promote products.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and strains in the store, staying up-to-date on new developments and trends.
- Provide education for staff about cannabis products, ensuring they are knowledgeable and confident in their abilities.
- Participate in developing and implementing operational rules and procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards, creating an attractive and inviting environment for customers.
- Ensure compliance with security, inventory, and local and state regulations, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
- Work with inventory & purchasing leads to promote increased foot traffic and drive sales.
- Manage product inventory in partnership with the Back of House Manager, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
- Report on buying trends and customer needs, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.
- Manage financial records and cash handling procedures, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Use active selling skills during guest engagements, promoting products and driving sales.
- Lead and coach selling skills in team members, providing guidance and support to ensure success.
- Observe selling behaviors and provide on-the-spot feedback, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Leadership and organizational abilities, with a proven track record of managing teams and driving results.

- 3-5 years in a retail management position, with experience in cannabis retail preferred.
- Understanding of METRC, with experience in inventory management and tracking preferred.
- Continuous Improvement/Lean Methodology experience preferred, with a focus on driving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Cannabis experience preferred, with a strong understanding of the industry and its trends.
