Position Overview

Leidos is seeking a dedicated Customer Support Specialist for Rental Housing to join our FHA Resource Center team. This role is pivotal in assisting the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in their mission to foster sustainable and inclusive communities.

As a Customer Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing assistance to renters, tenants, and property managers by offering essential resources and referrals tailored to their rental needs. Additionally, you will support homebuyers and homeowners with inquiries related to purchasing and owning a home. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain insights into HUD rental assistance programs and FHA mortgage initiatives through ongoing training while delivering outstanding customer service.

Available Work Schedules:

  • 9:30 am - 6:00 pm MT
  • 10:00 am - 6:30 pm ET
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage phone inquiries regarding multifamily rental assistance requests, including tenant concerns, while adhering to established procedures.
  • Provide accurate information and resources to clients to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Utilize a knowledge base and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to effectively address customer inquiries.
  • Document customer interactions in an internal database for record-keeping and follow-up.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Proficient in navigating multiple computer systems and applications to provide information efficiently.
  • Strong time management skills and a dependable work ethic.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Teams).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional phone etiquette.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in property management.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a contact center or telephone customer service role.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security clearance, which includes a credit check and background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish), both verbal and written.
  • Experience with HUD-subsidized multifamily housing or public housing.
  • Experience in an Omnichannel Call Center environment.

Compensation: The hourly wage for this position ranges from $18 to $20.
