POSITION TITLE: Relationship Banker
REPORTS TO: Branch Manager
DEPARTMENT: Retail Operations
PAY GRADE: 8
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
PURPOSE: The primary objective of this role is to advance Financial Center First CU's mission of promoting financial well-being. This position is essential in delivering exceptional service to both internal and external members by embodying our core values: Care, Listen, Learn, Solve, and Act.
This role is pivotal in cultivating and sustaining member relationships. Responsibilities include enhancing member engagement, processing loan applications, opening new accounts, managing existing accounts, and cross-selling products and services to assist members in reaching their financial aspirations, all while ensuring a superior member experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and pursue opportunities to strengthen member relationships through proactive outreach, scheduled appointments, branch visits, and disciplined follow-up.
- Handle consumer loan applications; provide comprehensive product information, accurately complete applications, and ensure timely disbursement of loans while promoting additional products and services.
- Educate members on financial literacy, including savings strategies and budget planning.
- Recommend or refer Credit Union and CUSO products and services that align with members' financial needs.
- Process new account requests and deliver all necessary product information, ensuring accurate completion of applications and related documentation.
- Guide members on electronic and automated service options.
- Adhere to all applicable policies regarding transactions and security measures.
- Engage in community initiatives supported by the Credit Union.
- Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of two years of successful sales and service experience in a financial setting or equivalent.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated strong sales abilities and achievement of sales targets.
- Comfortable working in a high-traffic environment.
- Ability to understand and articulate products and services, as well as loan policies and procedures within a short timeframe.
- Proficient in relevant Credit Union systems and Microsoft Office.
- Detail-oriented with a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of arithmetic and familiarity with standard office equipment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The role requires mobility within the work area, prolonged periods of standing, and sustained focus. It involves regular communication with members, repetitive tasks, and a strong emphasis on security protocols.
