POSITION TITLE: Relationship Banker

REPORTS TO: Branch Manager

DEPARTMENT: Retail Operations

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

PURPOSE: The main objective of this role is to embody the vision of Financial Center First CU by promoting financial wellness. This position is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to both internal and external members while upholding our core values of Care, Listen, Learn, Solve, and Act.

This role focuses on establishing and nurturing member relationships. Responsibilities include assisting members in achieving their financial objectives through personalized service, processing loan applications, opening new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and cross-selling products and services, all while ensuring a superior member experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance member relationships through proactive outreach, branch visits, and disciplined follow-up.
  • Process consumer loan applications; provide comprehensive product information, complete applications accurately, and ensure timely disbursement of loans while promoting additional services.
  • Educate members on financial literacy, including savings strategies and budget preparation.
  • Recommend and refer relevant Credit Union and CUSO products and services that align with members' financial needs.
  • Facilitate new account openings and provide essential product information, assessing members' financial lifestyles to offer suitable products.
  • Guide members on electronic and automated service options available.
  • Comply with all applicable policies regarding security and identification.
  • Engage in community events supported by the Credit Union.
  • Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of two years of successful sales and service experience in a financial setting or equivalent.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated sales proficiency and ability to meet assigned sales targets.
  • Comfortable working in a high-traffic environment.
  • Ability to understand and explain products, services, and loan policies within a specified timeframe.
  • Proficient in relevant Credit Union systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Detail-oriented with a professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic arithmetic skills and familiarity with standard office equipment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position requires mobility within the work area, prolonged periods of standing, and the ability to maintain focus during intense interactions with members. The role may involve repetitive tasks and necessitates a high level of attention to security protocols.
