Job Summary:

As a key member of the Kaiser Permanente team, the MRI Technologist Lead plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality diagnostic imaging services for our patients. This leadership position requires a strong background in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology, as well as excellent communication and supervisory skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct, check, train, and report on the work performance of three or more regular employees in the MRI department.
  • Orient new hires and provide guidance on MRI procedures and protocols.
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.
  • Interview patients to explain MRI procedures, address concerns, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols, monitoring patients, and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary to support the MRI department's goals and objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

The MRI Technologist Lead will motivate and provide direction to other employees, but will not have the authority to hire, fire, or discipline.

Requirements:
  • Minimum two years of continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist with Kaiser Permanente, or three years of experience in other hospitals and clinics.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) within six months of hire.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
