Job Summary:
As a key member of the Kaiser Permanente team, the Assistant Facilities Director Imaging Services will oversee the daily operations of the diagnostic imaging department. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, access, and budget goals are achieved in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will manage a full-service inpatient and outpatient department, which includes Radiology, MRI, CT, I/R, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Mammography, Cardiac Cath Labs, and Imaging Files.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Imaging Service Director to meet the clinical needs of physicians, staff, and members. Develop a strategy to achieve an integrated service line for diagnostic imaging.
  2. Manage department operations by maintaining schedules, monitoring performance improvement, safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Participate in planning major facilities construction/renovation projects to ensure safe and effective placement of imaging equipment and efficient operations.
  3. Ensure equipment and procedures are safe, functional, and capable of meeting diagnostic needs in a timely manner.
  4. Develop and monitor payroll and non-payroll budgets for the department. Identify opportunities to reduce costs.
  5. Manage union supervisors and staff, resolving human resource, labor relations, employee, and department safety issues.
  6. Select and train technical and administrative imaging staff. Monitor staff performance and participate in developing competencies, performance standards, and imaging protocols.
  7. Develop and implement a plan for equipment procurement, maintenance, and replacement. Stay up-to-date on new developments in diagnostic imaging technology and make recommendations on acquiring and implementing new technology.
  8. Ensure adherence to state and federal rules and regulations on safety and quality assurance programs.
  9. Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission, MQSA, federal, state, and local agencies.
  10. Kaiser Permanente conducts regular compensation reviews of positions. The company reserves the right to reevaluate and change job descriptions or change positions from salaried to hourly pay status.

Requirements:

  1. Supervisory experience within the last three years in an imaging department is required.
  2. Working knowledge and experience in a high-volume imaging department are required.
  3. Demonstrated strong communication skills, labor relations, and human relations skills are essential.
  4. Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory standards is required.
  5. Strong computer skills are required.
  6. The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Minimum three years of experience as a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist.
  2. Imaging certification (CRT, RDMS, ARRT, CNMT, ARMRIT) is preferred.
  3. ARRT with advanced registry is a plus.
