POSITION SUMMARY:

  • As a Senior Audit Supervisor at TYS, LLP, you will be pivotal in managing and overseeing our Audit & Assurance department, guaranteeing the provision of top-notch audit services to our clientele while contributing to the professional growth of junior accountants. This role presents an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned audit professional to lead and thrive within a collaborative and nurturing environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Audit & Assurance department, including task assignment, work review, and providing guidance to team members to meet client expectations.
  • Facilitate the professional development of team members through onboarding, training, and mentorship.
  • Review and assess workpapers prepared by team members, assisting in the completion of engagements and the production of financial statements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and offering proactive insights and solutions.
  • Engage in business development efforts, attracting new clients and expanding services to existing clients.
  • Stay informed on changes in accounting and auditing standards, communicating their implications to clients and team members.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of firm processes, procedures, and best practices.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA certification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on audit engagements; managerial or supervisory experience is essential.
  • Experience in managing remote teams and personnel.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP, GAAS, and SAS, with the capability to apply complex concepts to client scenarios.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset to apply relevant audit guidance to client situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a history of managing and developing staff to reach their full potential.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
