Job Overview

The Senior Engineering Project Coordinator (EPC) will report directly to the Engineering Project Management Supervisor.

The EPC is tasked with guiding the product development team to achieve all project milestones as outlined at the project's commencement.

EPCs will possess a thorough understanding of the design and development lifecycle of electronic systems.

Collaborating with a cross-functional team from various internal departments, the EPC is accountable for steering projects related to power electronics for both military and commercial applications from the initial proposal stage through to hardware validation.

The EPC is responsible for project planning, driving customer requirements, and ensuring that engineering outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The EPC guarantees adherence to company procedures and protocols. This role demands exceptional interpersonal communication abilities and coordination with Business Development, Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and oversee the design and execution of engineering projects.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper resource allocation.
- Ensure delivery of project scope within the agreed cost, timeline, and quality parameters.

- Manage schedules, budgets, and integration of New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or requisition projects, influencing project teams to meet customer deadlines and achieve key milestones.

- Leverage extensive knowledge of product development and analytical skills to drive project execution.

- Anticipate and resolve issues promptly, drawing on comprehensive understanding of the design and development process.

- Utilize sound judgment to propose solutions beyond standard parameters for complex issues involving technical teams and other stakeholders.

- Mentor team members and facilitate conflict resolution, fostering consensus among team members on various topics.

- Provide estimates on cycle times and design tasks to create project schedules using project management software, including schedule and cost performance metrics.


Required Qualifications

This position requires substantial experience in Electronic Product Development and Project Management.

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Technical Degree) or Project Management from an accredited institution, along with over 10 years of experience managing large-scale projects as a project manager.


Preferred Attributes

- Familiarity with Earned Value Management and managing key performance indicators.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to analyze and resolve issues.
- Proficient in documentation, planning, and executing programs with established project management and leadership capabilities.
- Experience managing cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Proficient in project management tools such as MS Project and Office.
- Experience in NPI Product Design and Development within the Aerospace sector, including knowledge of DO-254, DO-178, and MIL-STD-810.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Experience in creating project management plans and budget work packages.
- Limited travel may be required.

This role necessitates access to technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions, and is only open to U.S. Citizens. Proof of status will be required.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is competitive and may vary based on the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of the base salary.
