Key Responsibilities:
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machining equipment including mills and lathes.
  • Design and develop tooling, jigs, and fixtures for part production.
  • Interpret engineering drawings from both internal and external sources, providing machining strategies that optimize efficiency and minimize costs while ensuring high-quality output.
  • Assist in managing the workload of the machine shop and scheduling incoming projects.
  • Review material and process certifications to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Organize incoming materials and allocate them to active or upcoming jobs.
  • Create purchase requisitions for raw materials and other necessary processes.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and first-time part evaluations.
  • Support rapid prototyping and quick turnaround projects.
  • Develop manufacturing processes and workflows to enhance production efficiency.
  • Draft work instructions for machinery operations.
  • Provide technical assistance to fellow machine shop staff.
  • Review engineering specifications and assist the sales team in preparing estimates.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC programming, operation, and metal fabrication techniques.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for design and manufacturing.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor, Vault, HSM, and Fusion 360.
  • Knowledge of safe practices in machine shop environments.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Background in producing custom parts and prototypes.
