Senior Engineer for Hypersonic Guidance and Control

Key Responsibilities- Collect, articulate, and document comprehensive system-level requirements to facilitate flight control and mission trajectory planning.
- Design and develop control algorithms to ensure optimal vehicle performance and stability margins.
- Implement control strategies via embedded software for rigorous testing and evaluation.
- Analyze experimental data to enhance control mechanisms and precision.
- Create and oversee Matlab Simulink Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) algorithms, along with 6-Degree-of-Freedom (6DoF) simulations to support flight vehicle advancements.
- Utilize software tools to forecast stability, control authority, flight envelopes, saturation points, flutter characteristics, and accuracy metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to model critical mode transitions, including platform and stage separations.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Prior internship experience in a related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense projects.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational capabilities.
- Proficient in linear and non-linear system modeling and analysis using Matlab Simulink or similar tools.
- Experience in designing feedback control systems based on linear control principles.
- Knowledge of robustness analysis for feedback control systems, including Monte-Carlo simulations and linear margin assessments.
- Understanding of aircraft and missile flight dynamics.
- Familiarity with best practices in software version control.
- Eligibility to obtain a SECRET clearance.
The compensation for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience, education, and skill set. This position also includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus based on performance metrics.
