Federal Business Development Director Job Description

Pearl Interactive Network is seeking a seasoned Federal Business Development Director to drive sales and business growth within the federal sector.

This key leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving growth and closing profitable contracts within the Federal sector.

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, a high level of technological proficiency, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing market dynamics.

Collaboration, open communication, a strong network within the Federal space, and the ability to manage long sales cycles are essential attributes for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth and achieve revenue targets within the Federal market segment.
  • Conduct market research, identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging existing relationships and actively cultivating new partnerships with government agencies and prime contractors.
  • Lead the Federal sales team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to drive performance and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry partners, and internal teams, to support business objectives.
  • Drive the development of compelling proposals and presentations that effectively communicate PIN's value proposition and differentiate us in the marketplace.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contract stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of contracts, ensuring client expectations are exceeded.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize business development processes and enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide regular updates and reporting on sales activities, pipeline development, and performance metrics to senior leadership.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of demonstrated track record in Business Development, with a proven track record of success in selling to Federal government clients and agencies.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Federal contracting landscape, including procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with commercial and government systems that support the Federal capture process, e.g., Deltek GovWin, FedBizOpps (FBO), Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS), and the System for Award Management (SAM).
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating high-performing sales teams.
