Position Overview:
This role involves assisting in the acquisition of right-of-way (ROW) for governmental entities, including coordination of condemnation processes and relocation efforts for both residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the acquisition of ROW for governmental projects.
  • Facilitate condemnation processes, including coordination of hearings.
  • Assist in the relocation of residents and businesses as required.
  • Evaluate parcels and ROW maps to identify potential conflicts.
  • Perform both technical and administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Negotiate real property acquisitions to ensure timely closings.
  • Conduct thorough searches of county records for property information.
  • Review property titles and address any curative issues.
  • Coordinate right-of-way and utility matters related to construction projects.
  • Stay informed about federal, state, and industry regulations, including FHWA, FAA, FTA, FRA, FERC, and the Uniform Relocation Act.
  • Support real property projects through assessments, risk analysis, and property management.
  • Ensure compliance with budget and schedule while adhering to applicable laws and client policies.
  • Deliver necessary documents and materials within the project scope.
  • Manage files and documentation in the office and engage with property owners in the field.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations as directed by project leadership.
  • Maintain accurate and complete project files as required.
  • Strive for maximum productivity, quality, and service in all tasks.
  • Complete assignments within designated timelines and communicate any issues to management.
  • Occasional travel may be required for project-related activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Texas Real Estate license is mandatory.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance are required.
  • Experience with Texas Department of Transportation ROW projects, including negotiation and relocation processes.
  • Familiarity with TxDOT policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish (conversational proficiency).
  • IRWA certifications (e.g., SR/WA, R/W-NAC, R/W-RAC, RWP) are advantageous.
