Position Overview:
This role is pivotal in assisting with the acquisition of right-of-way (ROW) for transportation projects and other governmental entities, including managing condemnation processes and facilitating relocations for both residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the acquisition of ROW for TxDOT and other governmental entities.
  • Manage condemnation processes, including coordination of hearings.
  • Facilitate relocations for residential and business properties.
  • Analyze property parcels and ROW maps to identify potential conflicts.
  • Conduct technical and administrative tasks as required.
  • Negotiate real property acquisitions to ensure timely closings in alignment with project schedules.
  • Perform thorough county record searches to gather property information.
  • Review property titles and address any curative issues.
  • Coordinate right-of-way and utility matters for clients, particularly related to construction projects.
  • Maintain familiarity with federal, state, and industry regulations, including FHWA, FAA, FTA, FRA, FERC, and the Uniform Relocation Act.
  • Engage in activities supporting Real Property Projects, such as property assessments, risk evaluations, and utility coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with schedules and budgets while adhering to all applicable laws and client policies.
  • Deliver necessary documents and materials within the project scope as required.
  • Work both in the office managing documentation and in the field interacting with property owners.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations as directed by project and program managers.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and project managers for guidance and coordination.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project files as per specific requirements.
  • Strive for efficiency to enhance productivity, quality, and service delivery.
  • Complete assignments within designated timelines and communicate any issues to management.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Texas Real Estate license is mandatory.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance are essential.
  • Experience with TxDOT right-of-way projects, particularly in negotiation and relocation processes.
  • Knowledge of TxDOT policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to lift small boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish (conversational proficiency).
  • IRWA certifications are a plus (e.g., SR/WA, R/W-NAC, R/W-RAC, RWP).
