Key Responsibilities
  • Acquisition Support: Provide support in the acquisition of TxDOT ROW and/or other governmental entities, condemnation, and relocation.
  • Parcel Analysis: Analyze parcels and ROW maps to evaluate potential conflicts.
  • Technical and Administrative Work: Perform technical and administrative work as applicable.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate for the acquisition of real property to achieve closing and meet letting schedule requirements.
  • Record Searches: Conduct County record searches for property information.
  • Title Review: Review title and clear possible curative issues.
  • Right-of-Way and Utility Issues: Coordinate right-of-way and utility issues for clients, generally related to construction projects.
  • Laws and Regulations: Be familiar with federal, state, and industry laws and regulations, such as FHWA, FAA, FTA, FRA, FERC, and the Uniform Relocation Act.
  • Real Property Projects: Perform activities to support Real Property Projects, such as property assessments, risk analysis, acquisition of needed rights, occupant relocation, property management, construction coordination, and utility relocation/coordination.
  • Schedule and Budget Performance: Ensure schedule and budget performance, while complying with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as client policies and procedures.
  • Document Delivery: Deliver documents and materials within project areas as needed.
  • Office and Field Work: Work in the office managing/preparing files and documents, as well as in the field meeting with property owners.
  • Reports and Recommendations: Prepare reports and recommendations as directed by project managers and/or program managers.
  • Communication: Report to, seek advice, and coordinate with supervisors, project managers, and/or program managers.
  • File Maintenance: Maintain complete and accurate files, as appropriate, pursuant to project-specific requirements.
  • Productivity: Work efficiently to maximize productivity, quality, and service.
  • Travel: Light travel may be necessary (1-3 overnight stays).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree preferred or minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar or like field.
  • Texas Real Estate License: Texas Real Estate license required.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance are required.
  • Experience with TxDOT ROW Projects: Experience with Texas Department of Transportation right-of-way projects, with proficiency in negotiation, relocation, and eminent domain coordination processes in accordance with the Uniform Relocation Act or specific state laws.
  • Knowledge of TxDOT Policy and Procedures: Knowledge of TxDOT policy and procedures.
  • Microsoft Business Suite: Working knowledge of Microsoft Business Suite, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Lifting Ability: Ability to lift small boxes up to 25 pounds.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual in Spanish: Bilingual in Spanish (conversational minimum).
  • IRWA Certifications: IRWA certifications preferred (SR/WA, R/W-NAC, R/W-RAC, RWP, etc.).
